Viewpoint Ceramics History
| The gallery program at Grossmont College has always been directly tied to the instructional programs of the college. Each year it has been the responsibility of the ceramic faculty to curate or identify artists for the annual ceramic offering for the gallery program. From 1970-2000 a variety of ceramic exhibits have been held including one person exhibits, small and large group exhibits, local shows, regional shows, and for the first time in 1998 a national juried show. |
| The purpose has always been to provide the Grossmont College students with: |
| 1. | High quality examples of contemporary ceramics. |
| 2. | Historical documentation of these exhibits through catalogues with essays on contemporary ceramics. |
| Support to the professional ceramic artist has been intended by providing a venue to exhibit their work. |
