Awards

First Prize $1000.00
Second Prize $ 750.00
Third Prize $ 500.00
Other prizes for Honorable Mention made at the discretion of the Juror/and or Gallery.

Eligibility
The competition is open to all artists residing in the United States. Works must have clay as the primary medium. Works that vary appreciably from submitted slides will be rejected at the discretion of the Gallery Curator.

Fees
There is a non-refundable entry fee of $20.00 per artist, with a maximum of 3 works submitted per artist. Make checks payable to Grossmont Community College District. Fee MUST be included with entry form.

Slides
3 entries with a maximum of 2 views per entry. Name, title, size of each piece on each slide. Designate entry number (entry 1, 2, or 3) on each slide.

Agreement
Hyde Gallery reserves the right to reject works from exhibitions that are deemed extraordinarily fragile or unstable, and reserves the right to reject works accepted by the juror due to their content or inability to be properly installed.
A donation to the Hyde Gallery of 30% of sale price from all sales.
By submitting work for entry the artist agrees to allow work to be shown and reproduced in any Gallery publicity, including web publications.
If work is accepted for exhibition, all required forms must be returned to the Gallery by December 21, 2001.

Note: Works cannot be included in the show unless these forms are received by the above date. All Grossmont College inventory forms, insurance forms and exhibition agreements must arrive at Hyde Gallery prior to receiving the accepted works for insurance to be in effect. December 21 deadline.

Sales
Price lists will be available to the public. Artists must indicate selling price or NFS for insurance purposes.

Insurance
All work to be shown at Hyde Gallery will be insured against fire, theft, and other hazards at Hyde Gallery while in the possession of the gallery, from the time of receipt through the time of setup and exhibition. The gallery does not insure works in transit. This is the responsibility of the artist. Grossmont College cannot be held responsible for damages to work during shipping and Grossmont College insurance will NOT cover work in transit.

Specifications
Works may not exceed 30" in any dimension and must weigh less than 50 pounds. Clay must be the primary medium. Wall pieces MUST include all hardware and be ready to hang. Necessary assembly and mounting instructions and materials MUST be included with accepted works.

Rules
All entries, consisting of entry forms, fees and slides, must be postmarked no later than November 8, 2001.
All works must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.
The artist is responsible for shipping & insurance charges to and from Grossmont College.
Payment of entry fees and submission of images for judging signifies the artist's understanding and acceptance of all rules and conditions of the competition.

Shipping
Artists are responsible for all shipping charges of works to and from Grossmont College. Artists are responsible for insuring their work in transit. Works must be shipped by either FEDEX or UPS and must be shipped with return postage and insurance paid and appropriate Authorized Return Shipping labels included for the return of the work after the exhibition ends. All containers and shipping materials MUST be clearly marked identifying the artists and should be sturdy and reusable, with appropriate return shipping instructions. Works will be returned in the cartons in which they are receive

Packing:
All packing must be of professional quality and meet shipping company guidlines.
